I just bought a printer that outputs marvellous prints. So to test out my new printer while learning its features, I went online to search for nice prints so that I can print them out on my printer.

I stumbled upon this very novel service where we could call a number and select an artificial voice sample and this program, called TextGram, will dial the number and our message, which we have just input, will be read to the recipient in our selected voice sample.

This is basically called speech processing. This service is only available in the United States and Canada but this is so fun, I just have to feature it.

Our calls will be placed at once but it the program receives an engaged tone, it will attempt to redial in one minute's time, before aborting.

My latest find is The Blue Thing. I actually do not know why the site is called thus. Apart from the fact that the border of the layout is blue. And what "thing" is it? I have no idea. But that is beside the point. Importantly, the site is a wealth of things that can tickle my funny bone.

Do you remember the days when it was a hassle to book a vacation? Just the task alone nearly killed the joy of going somewhere to relax. What's Quark and what's InDesign. To be frank, I don't really know except that they are desktop publishers. Is this even the right term? I think so.

2007 WebAwards

I just came across the 2007 WebAwards, organized by The Web marketing Association, which is currently open for nomination and will close on May 31st, 2007. I feel that this is a great award in recognition of outstanding websites, based on user-friendliness, design, content, technology, copywriting, interactivity and innovation.

There are so many websites on the internet and many more to be set up daily, it is not possible to unearth the gems unless we nominate our favorite websites and put them through the judging process to discover the best sites in 96 different industries.

I currently do not own a website although I have bought a domain name but I do know of a couple of websites that my friends run which may be worth of the 2007 WebAwards. I definitely will nominate them and hopefully they will win! We will all be so proud of the achievement!

The Web Marketing Association is now accepting entries into its 11th annual international WebAward Competition. A friend of mine told me that she is lost for ideas on how to keep her children occupied, especially when it rains and they have to stay indoors. To help her out of her predicament, I surfed the net looking for ideas that will keep the children happy and occupied and at the same time, entertained and educated.

I came across the website FamilyFun.com and it has loads of arts and craft ideas and everybody can learn how to do these items step by step and they even have videos that we can view for better understanding.

This website is particularly geared towards family with young kids where everyone can do these arts and crafts as a family. I have seen the craft ideas and they are indeed innovative and yet not too difficult to learn. Too bad I do not have children of my own to play with.
