Although the Chinese has a saying that even though gold is precious, time is even more so. However, the Chinese generally love gold among all other previous metals and gold coins remain one of their top investment products after gold jewelry.
Buying gold is very easy nowadays compared to my grandmother's time. This is opposed to opening a "gold account" where one wouldn't even be able to touch the gold that one supposedly have bought.
