A friend read my blog about my indecision in which laptop to buy. Well, he hit the nail when he said that I do not really need a laptop. Sure, it is good to have but what I really need it for is as standby in case my desktop computer fails me.
According to my friend, what I should do is to check out companies that offer laptop rental and have their contacts on standby so that if anything happens to my computer, I could just call them up and rent a laptop while my computer is sent to the repair shop.
Honestly speaking, needing to use a laptop for a couple of days now and then does not justify the cost of buying one. Besides, by renting laptops when the need arises, I get to test out different makes and models so that in the future when I really need to buy one, I would know which brand I prefer.
What do you think about renting laptops? Is it a good idea?
