My friends and I attended a wedding recently. Even though we don't know the host, or the bridal couple, but we stayed a few days in the neighborhood, we still went along to enjoy the celebration and shared in the joy.
In Malay custom, the host would give out rice to guests in the goodie bag. One of my friends, who received a bag of rice, told us that when her daughter gets married, she would give out gold instead.
But where to buy gold coins, she asked? I have no idea. Maybe over the internet? I am definitely going to attend that wedding, if only just to get hold of a piece of gold!
