I know it is a little odd to be writing this post today but with the gloomy news that Singapore is sending over 300,000 Malaysians working in Singapore back to Malaysia and flood the workforce, I have been getting news that many of my friends are left jobless, and it is not easy to be happy in such circumstances, right?
Those of my friends who have a little savings tell me that in such an economic situation which makes it an employer's market, and be forced to take on a job locally with a lower currency exchange rate, they would rather go back to school for retraining and be in a better position to secure a better paying job when the economy improves.
I think if I have a lower paying job waiting for me, I too would be taking up a course relevant to my job. A friend has enrolled herself in a cooking school. Another plans to go back to a truck driving school for a refresher's course. I think that's an excellent idea!
