This morning, I chanced upon this website at SendFreeSMS.org. There is no pop up or pop under ads unlike other similar sites. This site has a clean interface and there is no need to even know the provider of your recipient.
Now, the thing is, we should not depend entirely on such services. I have not tried this so I am not sure how fast the message will reach, if it does at all. Try it and you will know and use free services like these only for non urgent messages.
