This morning, I was introduced to an established Piano Chords Blog. I have always been interested in learning to play the piano but my family was not well to do and in Malaysia, in the 70s, only affluent families could send their kids to piano classes.
My cousin learnt to play the piano and even obtained a Diploma in teaching piano but I feel that it is a waste that she is not using her knowledge now because she is an account.
I thought that I am too old now and my fingers are stiff and would not be able to play the piano fluidly but the author of the Piano Chords Blog is really encouraging when he says that nobody is too old to learn piano. This blog provides free online piano lessons covering the basics of piano chords and progressions, theory, sheet music and many more lessons.
According to the author who calls himself "Chord Guy", is is possible to learn to play by ear. I believe that when I learn piano following his lessons through this blog, I would be able to learn at my own pace and not feel the pressure as I would from a real piano teacher.
This is a very interesting site which I will continue to follow closely. You should too, if you have been dreaming from young to playing the piano like Liberace or Richard Clayderman.
