In my search for contests and freebies, I have come across many sites that sometimes claim to protect our privacy, which according to the Legal Definitions Dictionary could be traced back to the nineteenth century, but then sell off our information to third parties. That's why, keeping this blog, I am very careful to only select websites that do not distribute our private information, contact details, and worse, our Social Security Number or credit card number to marketers or scammers who would willingly pay a premium price for such a list.
Some companies, however, write it upfront that they will send you an occasional email update or website newsletter. Well, I am all right with those.
Sometimes you have to ask yourself if something is too good to be true. The bottom line is, do not compromise on your privacy!
