As promised, here is another competition held in conjunction with Fort William Mountain Festival. John Muir Trust Writing Competition is a new competition, held for the first time in 2007.
This competition is sponsored by John Muir Trust and held in memory of John Muir who taught the people the importance of loving nature and protecting its heritage.
John Muir Trust, in conjunction with Fort William Mountain Festival, is launching a new writing competition to encourage you to share your experience of wild places.
Theme: Wild places, wild journeys
Brief: A piece of writing on a wild place, a journey or expedition on land or water, an exploration of a remote place, a climb, a walk, a river, a loch, or a mountain. Illustrations to accompany writing the can be included if the writer wishes.
Length: 1200 words maximum
Deadline: 26th January 2007
Entries: Entries to Nevis Conservation Officer, John Muir Trust, Glen Nevis Visitor Centre, Glen Nevis, Fort William, PH33 6JF or nevis@jmt.org
Judges: To be announced
Winner: The winning article will be published in the John Muir Trust Journal.
